Does wanting a simple life make me a simple or complicated woman?

I come from a comfortable family; and I have beautiful belongings, nice food and a comfortable home that my family worked hard for.

I am intelligent, but I just want a simple education and a simple job, where I help people and I’d like to be married, with a close circle of family and friends and enough to eat, with a comfortable home. I enjoy the lovely clothes and some of the jewellery, but I feel sure that I could manage fine without it.

I'm of the opinion that more often than not, it's the more complicated people who desire a simple life, for many reasons.
Maybe not, but that seems to be the result of my observations.

I'm told by fairly many people that I'm a complicated person, and like a simple life.

I've gone through various financial stages in my life.

As a kid and into young adulthood, things were fairly tight most of the time.
Not terrible, just sort of lean.

From about age 30 to 65, my late wife, our son and I were financially comfortable enough to splurge on occasion.
If there was something we wanted to do, we did it.
Liking the simple life, though, I continued to mostly live fairly simply.
My late wife and son liked/like living it up, though.

Things are now tighter than I've ever before experienced.
I'll be okay.
I'm good with living a simple life, and also now a more fulfilling life than ever before, even though advancing age has become hard on my body.
I'm grateful for much in my life.

Your desires don’t necessarily indicate how complicated or simple you are as a person, and even then how much should those traits be assigned a definitive value in relation to your personhood?

Apparently having everything you need and it coming very easily to you is getting old.

If you want to live a simple life then just do it!

It sounds to me like you just want a "normal" life without extravagance or poverty.
