Was I wrong to end a platonic friendship with a jealous ex-crush?

So me and this girl used to talk all the time (on and off for about 3 years). Then the last time we were friends she asked me if I had a girlfriend, I told her yes and she told me it wasn’t fair for her so she suggested platonic friends which I was okay with, then we started hanging out again as friends ( but I have a gift to one of her friends and she got jealous). Was I right by telling her we can’t be friends, obviously she still has feelings for me ( and I’m assuming always will).
