How can I gently turn a girl down without hurting her feelings?

I met this girl recently and the friend who I met her through, says she likes me. The only reason is that, I personally don’t find her attractive. Any advice on how I can turn her down without hurting her feelings.

I feel like at least for now, you can get around having that conversation until she approaches you herself. Since her friend had to confess for her in the first place, then I doubt she will take it upon herself to follow up with you on her own accord. If the friend mentions it again, just say that you don’t like the whole middle man thing and if she wants to talk, she can do it herself. But I have a feeling that if you don’t initiate then this will eventually not be a thing anymore.

If it comes to having that conversation with her I think the kindest thing is to be honest and tell her that you just don’t feel the same way romantically. You don’t need to mention anything about physical attraction as that could hurt her or make her feel insecure. Just be respectful and let her know that while you think she’s a great person, you don’t feel the connection you’d need for a relationship. That way, you’re being honest while still being kind and considerate of her feelings
