I study the handshake and the look. If a man looks at me in the eyes I know he's honest and has nothing to hide. Then I study the handshake. If it's strong and firm I know he's confident and strong minded vs a feeble weak handshake which is a sign of insecurity. Now if my first two examples come to pass that man is certain to have all my attention especially if he's physically attractive to me.
As per hygiene I can tell from a mile if a man is clean or gives the idea of someone who doesn't wash their hands.

I actually back way off when shaking a woman's hand. I try to match the energy of the other person and most women give a very soft handshake. I don't want to crush her hand as a greeting. Some guys are enthusiastic so I'll ramp up my grip to match. And then there's the insecure guy who treats a handshake as a dominance contest and consciously puts everything he has into proving he's a real man. I'm thinking OK, damaged goods, a vulnerability I can exploit. Save that note for later. 🤣
As to hand washing. I see it and register it all the time. And most guys, maybe 75% will wash their hands before leaving the men's room. But there's that other 25% who will absolutely zip up and walk out without giving soap and water a thought. if for some reason I end up in a handshake situation with one of those guys later, I will absolutely call the asshole out in front of whoever happens to be standing there... his wife, girlfriend, buddies, sister, bartender, group of women he's hitting on, anyone. "Sorry dude, I'm not gonna shake your hand. I saw you walk out of the men's room without washing that hand a while ago." It's hilarious to watch the reactions... anger, denial, humiliation... and the women reacting to him... ewwww! 🤣
And you may think well, that's only the low life's who do that. Nope. It tends to be the entitled asshole frat boys in a suit and shoes without socks who think the rules don't apply to them. Truck drivers and most blue collar guys will stay inside the social guardrails.
I think about whether he had a nice handshake, how sweaty his palms were and whether he looked me in the eye while he was shaking my hand.
I like how you think
All I think is washing my hands afterward
I also think about that no matter who shakes my hands that are not my family members
I guess they wanna make it like bro buddies. I’d rather give a female a hug. I’m not really into handshakes with women unless it’s the first time meeting them then I understand, but after that, it should go to a hug
Handshakes are common where I live. We only hug our partner or a relative we haven’t seen in years
Oh ok. Well I live in America. We mostly hug the women after we know them
"Remember what mom always said: a handshake is as good as a hug."
- Niles Crane, Frasier
Honestly, I’m not thinking anything romantic when I shake a guy’s hand. 😂 I’m mostly thinking about whether his handshake is normal or if he’s trying to crush my fingers.
And yes, hygiene does cross my mind sometimes, especially if I have no idea where someone’s hands have been. But I wouldn’t assume every guy skips washing his hands after using the bathroom. Some people are definitely more careful about hygiene than others.
If you know how much bacteria is on your phone, you stop worrying about shaking someone else's hand...
Bacteria are cute compared to what they did with their hands
I wash hands with soap every single time. Unless i just freshly changed my clothes and am able to expose by meat and empty it and cover it by pulling on the waistband wide grip on the sides.
Wondering where they've been.
Is he as firm and hard as his grip
How do you know that?
