Girls, how does receiving compliments make you feel?

Do you genuinely enjoy them, feel awkward, or just brush them off? Does it depend on who's giving the compliment or what they're complimenting you on?

I tend to enjoy compliments when they come from family or co workers, I do not enjoy compliments when they come from dates or church associates, because I do not believe I deserve to be praised for being religious, being religious is merely my duty. I dislike it when I am praised for being religious.

If they are about my looks then I dismiss them as lies. Actually most compliments of any kind I feel the same way, but most often when it's complimenting the physical attributes. I am never comfortable with receiving them.

It really depends who gives me the compliment. Getting a lot of compliments from strangers and you quickly get to the point where they don't mean much anymore.
