This popular girl humiliates me because I ignore her. What to do?

There's this girl every guy (except me) wants to fuc.k. Funny thing is, she seems to be attracted to me and no one else. She always tries to get my attention. She's a very arrogant girl (thinks she can get every guy) and that's why I ignore her. It's obvious it drives her mad and that's why she feels the need to humiliate me. The other day she asked me to arm wrestle her friend who happens to be a very muscular guy (he reminds me of Jersey Shore Ronnie). "Why don't you arm wrestle Josh? Let's have an arm wrestling match. We want to see who the stronger man is." Then she giggled and pointed at me. I rolled my eyes, told her to stop embarrassing herself and kept talking to my friend. She screamed: "Are you such a puss.y? Are you afraid to arm wrestle Josh?" I told her to shut the fuc.k up and that's when Josh came to me and challenged me. The guy is funny looking. He's very short but overly muscular. I'm tall and athletic, but being tall didn't help me. Obviously. He won.

She said something like: "Wow, BIG SURPRISE... NOT!" Then she giggled and stared at me. She kept smiling and I felt humiliated, but I didn't show her how humiliated I felt. I smiled back and joked about it: "You exactly know I let him win. By the way, why are you unable to deal with the fact I'm not attracted to cheap sluts like you? You're simply not worthy enough to date me. Just deal with it." She got really mad at me and slapped me: "I don't want to date you!" Then she ran out of the room. Her girl friends and Josh kept defending her. They told me I shouldn't have said that. I was being mean to her? They act like she's an angel and I'm the devil. It's pissing me off.

What do you think? Did I overreact? What should I do if she keeps humiliating me?

Normally I avoid High School drama, but here goes..

She's a drama queen, and she's not attracted to you. The only reason she focuses on you is because you're ignoring her, it makes her think that she falls short in some way -- if she can turn you she'll get an ego boost. The moment you give her the attention she craves she'll move on. At least, that is what I would have said before your little confrontation. Now I'm guessing that her insecurity has developed into hatred, and she'll get back at you for your lack of attention and insults by making your life miserable.

As for her friends, of course they defended her. That is what stupid people do. Especially when they're in groups. They don't think about what is going in, they just move and act as a herd. They protect their own. The question isn't whether or not you were mean to her, but rather whether or not you should have accepted the challenge set down by 'Josh' and the girl.

You know you were going to lose. More importantly, THEY knew you were going to lose, which is precisely why they wanted you to do it. And you did it. Worse, you made a fool of yourself by trying to act like a big man afterward. The proper thing would have been to say that your loss was all but guaranteed, and you had no intention of letting that loss be a source of amusement for them. That is how you stand up for yourself.

I'd say you have two choices. Avoid them and watch them make your life miserable, or confront her (IN PRIVATE) and apologize for calling her a cheap slut in front of her friends. Explain that it seems as if she's trying to get your attention, and that you don't appreciate her trying to humiliate you. Stop being rude to her. Stop trying to act like someone you're not. This is really your only hope for a civil ending.

Beware, if you try doing this in front of her friends she'll capitalize and punish you further. If you do it in private, the proverbial ball is in her court. There are no guarantees though. She may well just keep it up, because what you did was rather public and often the only way to regain face is to retaliate tenfold in an exceedingly public fashion.

Welcome to the human race. Keep your mouth shut or prepare to deal with stupid people, drama queens and sheep.

Ugh! I don't miss high school or the bullsh*t that went with it. This girl is a drama queen and thrives on attention. You drive her absolutely insane by ignoring her ass. She doesn't quite 'comprehend' why she can't evoke a response/reaction from you like she does everyone else. The problem you will encounter when you 'feed' a drama queen is that they will want MORE. It never stops, just like their demeanor never stops to fulfill that need they have.

I think anyone in your situation who was clearly exacerbated by the little thing might have reacted the same way. My advice is this, just steer clear of her and her sheep. Her dumbass friends' will always defend her no matter what, and the day they agree with someone else outside that social circle is when pigs fly. Stick to your original stance of ignoring her, pretending she is invisible or you go deaf when she is around. By you not reacting or acknowledging her, she will make a bigger ass of herself doing anything/everything possible to capture your attention.
