GUYS, why do you give a blank stare?

OK, so today I was walking at school and this guy I've never talked to turned around from his locker and just stared at me,coldly without smiling. people stare when they are attracted to someone,but wouldn't they at least smile to show they were?so it just makes no sense. I don't really care I just really wonder what guys think when they do.

so guys, why would you give a girl that blank/expressionless look? what are you even thinking? are you attracted or something or do you just not like her for some reason?

i stare at girls to show I'm confident (don't look away), but I don't smile at them cause smiling is a feminine feature. tough men don't smile and I don't want her to think I'm a wimp. furthermore I don't want her to know I'm interested in her (since girls are much more attracted to guys who kind of ignore them)...

I got kind the of the same issue a guy from work looks at me and I catch him looking he doesn't smile he has a cold look. I will admit he is hott. But his look kinda scares me. When I walk by him he never looks at me only from like 5 feet away. I don't want to smile at him if he doesn't like me because I don't want to.scare him lol. And I'm scared to talk to him.
