I'm waiting for her to text me - is this the right move?

Hey all, first of all, thanks in advance for the advice. This website is really great sometimes.

Anyways, I met this girl a while back, and we really hit it off. She always returned my phone calls/texts, but it's been really hard making plans with her (we have opposite schedules and lives 30 minutes away). I always initiate the text/phone conversation, she hasn't initiated a call or text conversation with me in the last few weeks.

So we talked last Thursday (I called her) and she told me to text her Saturday and she had made plans with her friend already, but she might be able to hang out with me. She is really busy with her job, and I get her commitment to wanting to see her friends.

Here's my question: I never ended up texting her, and the reason is that I can't tell if she's into me anymore. I I really like her - she's absolutely amazing, but I've been hurt before in situations like this and it's extremely painful. I don't want to end up in that situation again. But I want to know - if she never calls or texts me - does that mean she's not interested anymore? I'm also only the 3rd guy she's ever dated, she came out of a really bad long-term relationship a year ago.

Girls: Would you not get in contact with a guy if he quit calling or texting you? How long do you wait before you get curious and throw in the towel?

i would say that she wanted to be sure you were interested and in that didn't want to put herself out there too much (for the same reason, as you...didn't wanna get hurt). I would never text a guy if he was supposed to text me...so if you agreed, no I wouldn't contact you after you didn't text me. I wouldve taken that as you weren't interested and moved on.

on another thought process...by initiating all texts and calls you either made it the norm so that she expects it from you and when you don't takes it as you aren't into her OR made it very easy for a girl that wasn't interested in you to play you.

it really depends on how she was acting when you text and call her, I would say she was interested, but put the ball in your court for Saturday and you didn't do it so she figured you were done and told herself to move on.

Ugh... I get it - but at some point when do I just give up and text her? if she never has time to get together, I'm starting to question the point of all this.

I'm really leaning towards texting her later this week - and not try and make any more plans with her. Leave her the option to plan something in the future, and just move on with my dating life?

Also - she was always really excited to hear from me.

if she wants to meet you she will MAKE time, promise. if she doesn't in a week after you text her be done. liking someone is supposed to be to the point you can't get enough of them, which in turn would mean she would want to meet. I would say text her this week, and if she's excited and says lets meet then yall should try, but if she doesn't mention meeting/the fact that you bailed she's not interested.

just because a girl gets excited doesn't mean she likes you, just means she wants a boy...

She really should have texted you Saturday.. instead of telling you to text her. If a guy just stopped texting me and calling me, I wouldn't try to get back in contact with him BUT that's only if I had initiated a conversation and he never responded. If I were truly interested in someone, I'd make sure to text them or call them whenever I was available to spend time with them. Doesn't sound like she's really interested. =\
