Is locking eyes with a stranger in a crowded room the first step?

So at work today I saw a very lovely stranger. I was kind of looking at him and looking away, he came into my office, but unfortunately my boss was there and I was supposed to be doing something so we couldn't talk.

He was smiling and laughing at something someone said, so we locked eyes once, and I gave him a smile. He gave me a smile then, and then after that he kept locking eyes with me and smiling. When he passed by my desk he gave me a really nice smile too.

Didn't do it with anyone else.

So, you think there was initial interest? I noticed that after he caught eyes with me and I smiled, he started looking in my direction more and more, as if he got my approval.

If you lock eyes with a girl and she meets it and smiles, would it encourage you?

99% of flirtations start out like this. And it really encourages us to come over. Next time try to have a short conversation, as long as possible while working. Because he will probably return.

Then quickly mention when your shift ends.

that's what I call flirting..which is a good way(at least for me )to see if he has any kind of interest...hopefully the next step is a small fluff type conversation which leads to a date/coffee or the likes..

Yes. If you can somehow let him know how much you enjoyed meeting him so he'll know how to contact you, then wait him out.
