Well depends again, If I lock eyes I usually feel uncomfortable so I’d look away unless they smile to me then I’d smile back and turn away. If I feel attracted to them alooot I’d be looking on the low tho (you know when you are looking straight but you are also looking to the side 🤣) I’m a pro at that but sadly can’t use this trick at exams though, I have eye sight problem, I wear glasses. Don’t mistake me I see everything clearly w/o glasses, it’s just the letters that might not work for me, specially if they are little far away and there is alooooot of text 😂 I’d probably just stare few more seconds than an average person and I’m sure I’d get caught. Now I know this has nothing to do with the question you’ve asked but sneak-peeking is kinda similar as the one at the exam 🤣 I hope you got my point.
It depends on how they are staring at me and how long. I raise any eye brow if it's a negative if it's like full on eye fuck then I will say can I help?
Usually that would be enough to for them to look away.
If positive then I might smile and give a little head nod
Bella pre-Covid (without masks) whenever I was single and that happened I would simply smile but not stare or hold the gaze too long. I still smile under my mask but of course it's covered up. I never had that "two people meet in the grocery store movie thing" happen to me though.

I look at them. Then i start wondering why they are staring at me. Then i start trying to stare them down. Then i look meaner and try to make them afraid. They just giggle and often throw their cheerios at me. Damn kid. 😡

I'm too socially awkward to make eye contact with any stranger
Well when you have that sort of connection with a man you as the woman have to go over say hi even wave... being a man is extremely hard could get charged with harrassment..
Locking eyes with strangers happen forget about it unless you see him again then go up say hi if it feels right if it doesn't dont worry about it always trust your intuition!
Normally, locking eyes is a form of initial attraction. What you would do is go about your business, and when you see them again, and your eyes meet, greet them. A simple Hello, how are you doing. That is enough to start the conversation; if there was genuine attraction on both sides, the rest will grow from that conversation you started with Hello.
For me it always pisses me off because I always want the cute girl to lock eyes with me lol well I don't know about soulmates but if you did get a intense butterfly warm fuzzy feeling on the inside of you from your chest throughout your whole body that means your energies touched and you felt the most beautiful feeling ever and it only gets better from there

If this is the first time it's totally ok to look away but if it happens again, I suggest holding it for as long as you can until he breaks away and then don't look back until you feel his eyes on you (which you definitely will If he's interested). When this happens look at him and smile and usually, that opens the way for them to approach you. This is what I do and it works every time.

When two people lock eyes inadvertently, it means more times than any that they just sprung each other by surprise. Unless the other person is glaring a big smile at you... don't read into it. You just caught each other out of the blue.
Lol i stare until he looks away. Usually I would say smile but you are wearing a mask so it's different. They usually don't look away. Sometimes say hi, if I don't get distracted by something else.

I had this happen to me at the doctor's office years ago, me and this girl took turns at staring at each other and It made me extremely aroused
