When a girl treats you differently than everybody else?

I met this girl a few months ago. At first she was just like she is with everybody else: chatty, a bit of a smart ass and sarcastic. As we got to know each other, she started to change. Now all our interactions are very sarcastic and we tease each other a lot. She smiles at me a lot and she can hold my gaze and when we talk we just look into each others' eyes. Like I said, she treats me differently. At first she would deny it, but it was obvious that while she was polite and bubbly with other people, with me she was a bit nervous and seemed "aware" that I was around and she would talk a lot of "crap" at me. I like the way she is with me, its fun and we are always laughing and having a good time and recently she admitted that she treated me differently because "that's how we get along" and that she is this way at home (she says her dad gets "worse" treatment, and she loves her dad)and with close friends. The thing here is that she keeps telling me that we are not friends, so why is she being like this? why can't she just treat me like everybody else? She seems to enjoy talking to me and joking and she jokes to other people (not like she does with me, but still) and she is a lot more relaxed with them, what's up?

She's hinting... She's not allowing you into the friend zone... It's supposed to be like a giant anvil with flashing lights hitting you in the head... "YOU ARE NOT MY FRIEND..."

I guess that makes sense. She never slips though, we can have a great conversation and she will be laughing and I'll ask her "so are we buddies now?" and she just keeps saying NO, I would think by now she would've given up and said yes, but it is weird that she would say no every time, even though its obvious that we get along. She is always smiling and seems to remember conversations that took time a while ago, that at least means she DOES pay attention when I talk to her

I would say she likes you...but some girls just get weird around guys

I would understand if it was guys in general, but its only me. When there are other people around us and we are playfully arguing and stuff, they gasp in "horror" when they hear her talk to me, you can tell she is not that way around them. SHe tells them its "fun" being mean to me, even though she is a nice girl to begin with and she knows I'm a smart and confident guy, so its not like she is doing it because I'm an easy target or something...

Hmmm...I'm going to go out on a limb and say she likes you. But I'm still not sure. She might just like "picking" on you.
