Also, she may talk about the "good old days" with you, and try to talk about how things were when you two were dating (that's what I've done, and personally I think this is a more tasteful option than the first)

As well, she may just ask about your dating life since you've broken up (don't mistake this for her just trying to be polite and showing interest)

Quite often, a girl will use her friends to help her get over a guy she misses, so for example, a lot of "girl's nights out" to take her mind off you... Which brings me to my next point, her friends will know (hopefully) pretty much everything about her feelings for you and you two together so watch how they act towards you.

It also makes a difference if you're the one who dumped her. Then there's a greater chance she'll miss you and want you back. That, or you've ruined her faith in men and she's heart-broken and may temporarily want nothing to do with you, blunt but true in some cases.

On the other hand, if she is the one who dumped you, then that's tough luck, bud. This means she didn't want to continue the realtionship (probably for a good reason which the both of you hopefully come to terms with and agree upon). In this case, she may be missing your company and companionship but not necessarily want you as a boyfriend again.

One last factor to consider is the length of your relatinship. And how long the courting period lasted.

If you guys flirted and tried things out for a few months before you were official and dated for a long time, then its more likely for her to miss you, and be more comfortable letting you know that she misses you. With that being said, if the courting period was short, and you guys immediately became intimate or the interest was easy to obtain from each other initially, then there's a saying for that. "Easy come, easy go" so just in case you can't infer with what I'm saying, she likely has moved on.

Its all in how she acts. But it also depends on individualism. Some girls are very good at hiding their feelings if they don't want to get back or show their missing you (appearing vulnerable or rejected)
