Girls, let's say you find your boyfriend crying, but doesn't say why, what do you do?

I'll ask him what's wrong and comfort him unless he specifically requests I leave him alone for a while. He doesn't have to say what's bothering him right then, either.

I recently had a bit of a health scare while I was with my boyfriend. He broke down once he thought I was asleep and I comforted him then. It doesn't make him any less of a man. People have emotions and everyone handles themselves differently. It would make me less of a person if I was critical of him for being so upset.

I know that he prefers to work through most things on his own and then he'll talk to me about what bothered him. I'm the same way when something is really getting to me. We do what we can for each other and respect one another's need for space.

Yeah. He scared himself reading about my symptoms, found something that sounded close to what I had and read somewhere else that it had a 50% death rate.

In retrospect, it was rather dorky of him, but also very touching that he cares that much about keeping me around. I wasn't so thrilled while he was making a fuss over me, though haha

no I don't see crying as being for men, or for women. its just for anyone wos not sociopathic& has properly functioning tear ducts & is not so dehydrated they have no water to clean their eyes out with.

personally I can't stand crying, makes me feels rediculous. & I definitely have a vagina.. & no penis. so I can't reasonably think there's something wrong with him for crying-becasise he's a 'guy'/

Well, I know my partner well enough to know that sometimes he needs some time before he feels ready to talk to me if something is bothering him, and that sometimes he prefers to be alone when he's upset. I'd hug him and ask him what's wrong, and if he didn't want to talk about it, I'd let him know that I'm here for him when he does want to talk about it, and I also ask him if he'd like me to stay with him or to give him some space. And no, I wouldn't think that he's any less of a man for crying.

Wrap my arms around him and let him cry. Sometimes you have to let people cry and get it out before you go looking for the cause. Then I'd ask him if he wanted to talk about it. If he said no, I wouldn't push even though I'd be dying to know. If he didn't want to talk about it I'd focus on cheering him up and distracting him...laughter, sex, the usual. If he wanted to talk I'd sit and listen. I'd be about doing whatever he needed.

I would ask if he wanted to talk about it or if there is anything I can do to help. Of course I would want to comfort him, but I understand that people don't always want to be around others when they are upset. I would not think any less of him for it (unless of course he spontaneously bursts into tears every thirty seconds), he is only human. Plus, it is better than keeping things bottled up. And if he ever wanted to talk about it some other time, I would be all ears.

I'd definitely try to comfort him, unless he just wanted to be alone. In that case I'd go make him some coffee or food or something =)

I would feel really helpless and just want to help him. I would try to comfort him and get him to talk to me about what's going on. I wouldn't think he's less of a man, because I know he would have a reason for being upset.

honestly, if the reasons good enough for him to cry, then I'd comfort him, but if it was over something stupid, I'd be gone. I feel like the guy has to be the strong one in the relationship.
