Why do girls like persistence?

If a girl keeps flaking on a Guy but he keeps trying to get her how and why would a female like that? Doesn't the flaking mean she's not interested? How does this persistence thing work?

Some girls need to be ''convinced'' that you really like them - and persistence is a good way to get the answer they're looking for. Others need a LOT of time to understand that YOU are exactly what they want - so by hanging out with them more and more, and being persistent (yes!), she gets more and more into you...

This is exactly what happened with me and my boyfriend. I saw him as a friend and said no when he confessed his feelings. There were many reasons: 1) I really didn't care for a relationship then, 2) I had low-self esteem and thought I wasn't ready for one, 3) I thought it was just a phase of his...that he'll move on to someone else soon, 4) I didn't know him/his intentions well enough to take the risk.

He persisted and as I got to know and become comfortable with him, my feelings grew.
