I don't miss my boyfriend, is this a bad sign?

I've been with my boyfriend for a year and a half now but he's much clingier than I am. But the real wake up call was when I went on a week-long vacation last week...I actually did not miss him at all. When he called me during the vacation it was like "hey good to hear your voice" but not "omg omg miss you so much". Is this even normal? Or even during business trips...I don't miss him, I just focus on work. I'm kinda worried because I'm already much less clingy than he is so I don't know if this is a bad sign or something. Please advise!

Interesting, to be away from your SO for a whole week and not miss them does seem a bit odd to me. However, if he never makes you work for his affection, you won't be craving it. Also, if he's that needy and never gives you space, then your vacation was sort of a vacation from him too. As much as I crave love and attention from my BF, I am turned off by needy men and men who want to fawn over me and just hand me everything right away on a silver platter. There has to be a happy median. Being needy is not a masculine quality, this could be a deeper issue as to what you are truly attracted to and compatible with.

Yeah that's why I was kinda worried. I was sad to think that it was a vacation from him too but you're totally right.

No not at all! I have been with my boyfriend for nine going on ten months now and I don't miss him as I did in the beginning of the relationship. The reason I don't is because I am secure in the relationship and I know I don't have to worry about anything when we are away. I know he's not going to cheat on me. You guys have been together for a year and a half! That's normal. If you where clingy still, that's something to be kind of concerned about because that shows that you made him your whole world and that you not as secure in the relationship if that makes sense?

If you still love him, not missing him it not a bad sign.

You could just be really busy, you don't have to keep thinking about him...

Also since he's clingy you probably get enough of that and when he's gone, it's just a bit of freedom.

could be because you feel overloaded with his attention during daily life so when he's gone it's almost a bit of a relief, not feeling the constant clinging to you and wanting to constantly be with you ALL the time.
