"Girls are backstabbers" says a girl friend of mine from way back...

I honestly wouldn't say that girls (as a general statement) aren't backstabbers. However, I will say that I have noticed that women have less of a sense of "honor" that still exists in men. Allow me to explain:

Both men and women are governed by their logic, their emotions and feelings, their motives, all that kind of stuff. For men, we have what everyone has witnessed as being male pride. We don't like to feel emasculated, we don't like being put down, we don't like negative perceptions and reputations being attached to our names, we don't like being bitches, etc...

Women also have these kinds of feelings. The part that I've observed as being different is that much more often in women than in men, is that women don't have as much of a problem with their pride and thus they'll do as they please in order to survive. If they have to backstab, if they have to gossip, whatever they have to do is what they'll usually do. Females don't handle conflict the same as men do. Men will simply walk out and fight you over something. They'll talk sh*t to you and try to do the emasculating because they know the effect it has on guys. Girls don't. Girls will gossip, will plot and conive, they will passively attack you however they can in order to get back at you for whatever wrong they feel has been committed. It isn't a very hidden sentiment with quotes like "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". Women don't have that cap (in the words of Kevin Hart) of what they'll say or do. They'll unleash their big guns right out the gates if they feel threatened or upset.

So while men do back stab, they also pick up the reputation for being a backstabbing, untrustworthy person that has no sense of honor in what he says or does and this hurts men on some level. This is not what girls are taught by society (which is what I'd blame this behavior on, not girls themselves) and thus, girls respond differently since they've always been raised with kid gloves and treated like some porcelain doll. Women are not governed as strongly by their pride and honor, so it's not as big of a deal to be shady because it doesn't elicit the same emotions as it does for a man to be "de-prided".

Most women I have know have been treacherous in one way or another. Be careful which ones you grant your trust to, and how far you let them go. They are not like guys, they are different. Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad... I don't think you will ever find the same kind of comradery and loyalty in a woman that you can with your male friends. That's not to say that there are not good women, that will do good for you. There definitely are! They have their moments though. =P

I think there are girls who are backstabbers, but I don't really think girls as a whole are backstabbers, because I kind of feel like I'm one of the most loyal people I know. (Lawl... That sounds horrible and sort of sad.)

Maybe I'm lucky, I've been friends with my close girl friends since I was about 8. Although I do seem to witness girls backstabbing each other a little to often for comfort.

Pretty much. Girls are catty and too emotional. That's why most of my friends are guys, girls hate me for not being like them (overly emotional and too critical). Well most of the girls I know. Some girls are just like pennies. Two faced and almost totally worthless.

I've experienced some female friends of mine who have shown that they couldn't be trusted fully.

Though that's not a proof that all/most girls are.

But I will say that in my personal case, I have a difficulty to fully trust people around me. I don't share my deep secrets with many people at all.

Sorry ladies but as a man in his late forties, married only the once and with a daughter... you are almost all backstabbers. Men have certain unwritten rules and we do a good job amongst ourselves to obey those rules despite how we might be feeling. You on the other hand are able to justify to yourselves and your sisters-in-crime almost any act, however despicable, because you were made to 'feel' a certain way. No principles. Just feelings.
We are not the same. Far from it. Men are overtly violent, but a woman's violence is silent and stealthy. It is the most dishonest form of violence. And it's only when a guy gets older that he realises it's also abundant. I believe most women know this about themselves, which is perhaps why they like to portay themselves as angels. Men on the other hand don't pretend to be angels. We admit to being violent.

While I don't feel it's right to stereotype any group, I do have to agree with this statement. However, it isn't over anything, I think it's usually true whenever a girl is jealous that tends to be what the girl does instead of being more up front about it and fighting more in the foreground if you will.

I agree, women are expert at backstabbing when they can gain something for themselves or when they try to get back at you. Men are more prone to be erupt and be violent on the spot. Women are cold blooded killers, they will lie to your face and wait the right time, then plant that knife in your back when you least expect it.

Girls as a whole are not backstabbers, that's just ridiculous, but some girls are backstabbers. However for a lot of girls it seems to be the reason why they won't befriend a lot of other females.. fear of being played for a fool.

Well I have many stupid friends from way back and they said many stupid things so I am not always believing all that they said. I try to think for myself based on my own experiences. Girls can be full of drama and backstab but so can guys. All races, colors, creeds and gender are capable of great idiocy and kindness.
