Why do these girls talk behind my back?

i've actually had this kind of girls talking behind my back in the past too, and i dont get why they do it. when they meet me in person, they are mostly kind and smile, but when they are in group and meet me, they try to isolate me and dont even say hi. some of the girls just stare/glare at me and it just freaks me out because i didn't even do anything to them. I've rarely talked to them, so i wonder if they have anything they can talk about me? is it best to ignore them?

+) one of the girls in the 'gossiping' group started talking behind my back and whispering to their friends, since the day 1.. she started gossiping me when i had zero experience with her.

Because girls are bitches and do it to make themselves feel more superior than you... I have been on both sides.

Back in school I would always hear girls I had called my friends talk behind my back, saying horrible things and in turn I did same with others.

As a 20 year old, I don't listen to gossip or create it. I just plain don't get involved and that's the safest way to be at your age.

It's tough to know without more background info :) have you ever been friends with any of the girls? How exactly do you know them? Is there anything embarassing you did in the past that could've resulted in them making fun of you?
