Girls always texts "I hate you". Does she like me/flirting?

So this girl who is a friend of mine always texts me and says "I hate you". We flirt a bit and she knows I like her because I told her a little while back, but so far nothing has happened and we're just friends.

Lately though she will randomly text me and just say "I hate you". When I ask why it will always be something funny and meaningless. Like one time I texted a picture of my lunch since I had something she had been craving. The next day she texted me "I hate you" and it was because I had the food she wanted. Another time she was in vegas with some friends. She randomly sent me at text saying "I hate you", to which I replied "what did I do this time lol". Her response was "EVERYTHING!".

No she doesn't actually hate me, we are close friends. She's very hot and cold with her flirting but that could be due to some other outside issue that I won't go into. Anyway, do you think this is a form of flirting/does she like me?

I kind of agree with Konnour. Maybe you like this type of banter but she doesn't sound very interesting at all. Can't tell if she is playing with you, being funny or being sarcastic. I can say, she is not being clear. You may consider just simply asking her out. I always tell guys that when you tell a girl you like her, give her sometime to digest that. She may find herself getting attracted to you. When a girl does, she may try DUMB things to get your interest again. If you ask her out, it settles what is going on with her and I find that too many guys are wishy washy when they like me. Just ask me out, give me a place, a time and decide how we are gettign there. It's not to say, don't find out what I like but once you know, just be bold.

If she says no and doesn't give you something concrete..ie, "I would love to but such and such is happening. Can we plan for another day? (or even better how about Friday?)" I would walk away and not look back. Too many people use other peopel's affections to feel good about themselves.

Yeah, its sort of our style of flirting. We like to bust each others balls. She's a close friends so its not like I would necessarily ask her on a traditional date. I did tell her I liked her and mention the idea of the 2 of us dating. She said she found me attractive and that she agreed we get along well, but just isn't sure if she wants to date just yet. The big problem is that we have a 3rd friend who is madly in love with her and she fears his jealous behavior. He is moving in 4 months.

Well if you're the guy for a girl what would another guy's jealousy matter. When a girl likes a guy, she thinks he is the biggest and strongest. She thinks he can protect her. So unless the third friend has gang connections and she is sexually and emotionally connected to him, I think his problems are moot. My thought from eveyrthing you said is that she doesn't want to lose the guy who makes her feel good but for whatever reason, she is not interested enough to date. She's a dork. Her loss.

Basically lots of drama has been going around as a result of this 3rd friend. He's gotten borderline violent at times because he saw her being flirtatious with me or other guys. She basically doesn't want people to be fighting over her and be the center of drama and a rift in our group of friends. Obviously being a 1st hand witness to this I think its a legitimate concern. The problem is I'm left hanging at least for the next 4 months, not really knowing how she feels.

If she'd like you, she would make it more clear to you and wouldn't give you mixed signals, she wouldn't be all hot and cold. She knows you like her and if the feelings were mutual, why not go for it? But she's not going for it so either she doesn't feel the same or there's something holding her back.

Though I don't understand the joke when she texts "i hate you" so many times, lol, but maybe that's just me.

like I said we like to bust each others balls. She doesn't do this everyday, just a handful of times and she'll follow with an lol or some goofy reason. We both have chosen to keep our hands close to our chest atm, because of a 3rd friend of ours who is madly in love with her and exhibits extremely jealous behavior to the point of violence. She feels its best to just avoid the drama, especially since he's going to the military in 4 months.

She wants something from you but you aren't giving it to her. This could be something she wants communication, emotion, physical wise. She just can't tell you for what ever reason. Ask her point blank next time. "What am I doing? I can't read minds lol" something flirty but direct.

It's a playful hate, not that she's really upset, she always comes up with something goofy and stupid. I agree with the first part of your post. I also figured it was her way of getting some attention/conversation out of me. She'll sometimes start a texting convo this way.
