Why would a guy stare at a girl's face intensely?

There is this guy I know, and he stares at my face intensely. I have seen him check out my body (He is a guy after all) but he stares at my face an awful lot more. Why would a guy do this?

He stares at my face a lot when I am in his presence or talking to him. He compliments me all the time either on my work, or how I dress. He got jeolous when a guy friend of mine gave me a hug. He told me, and looked me in the eye and told me he likes me, which I was in shock over, as it came out of no where! I was seriously ill in hospital recently, and he was really genuinely worried about me, I could tell by his voice. He has said/addressed me as being a "Lady" which I thought was really nice

yes, sex or an affair. he is probably board at home, have marital problems, personal problems psychological problems...its like Chris Rock says, the only thing better than p*ssy is NEW p*ssy.
