Why do girls think I'm taken?

A couple of the girls that I talk to assume that I have a girlfriend and said that's why they never tried to further anything in our friendship. What could I be doing that gives off the vibe that I'm taken? I want to appear single like I actually am. I've been single for 3 years now. I've been told I have the traits of a great boyfriend, so maybe those show even though I am single. All answers are appreciated. Thanks :)

Because if you really are a good guy, it can be hard to believe that you are single. As for "appearing" single, there isn't really a way. You just are going to have to make your interest more known. One "vibe" that you could be giving off is your actions. Guys in relationships often drink less, talk to other girls more easily and can be more confident. That's just a generalization but it seems to be true for my guy friends. If they are seeing someone, they aren't all that keen to drinking themselves under the table and they are easier to talk to (way less innuendo)... so if you act like that, some girls might assume you are taken.

Yeah, that's me in a nutshell. hahaha. Never drink, I talk to girls easily and I recently became a lot more confident in myself. Thanks for the help :)

Well, then just take some extra steps or drop a few hints to let them know you are single. I wish I could still say I never drink.

Maybe they think you're goodlooking, and boyfriend material therefore they assume that you're taken. If becoming more flirty to a certain girl, or many girls, they may believe that your interested in them, therefore meaning you're single

Honestly. I think whoever told you that is blowing smoke. Those girls simply didn't want to go there with you(ie. Not interested). If a woman is interested she will find out if you are in a relationship.

Did you date any woman that told you that?

Why ask strangers on a message board who have never met you in person when you can ask those very girls who assumed you were taken?

Even on here I've had a girl message me in disbelief that I'm actually single. Plus people have experiences similar to mine so they can share their experience.
