How bad is it? Well your life is over for starters. As you walk through the hallways to your future interview people will smell the stench of failure on you as you walk by; they will give you dirty looks and rightfully so. Women will scoff at your attempts to hit on them and give you fake rejection hotline numbers, because you failed and thus deserve to be rejected in the coldest terms possible. Your friends will attempt to distance themselves from you because they heard through a reliable source that getting an "F" can be transmitted by sitting on the same toilet seat so they figure they better play it safe. Bars won't card you because they'll simply assume you need the drink, but they will kick you out shortly after because people that get an "F" are bad for business. Your xbox will red ring in a desperate attempt to free itself from your captivity. Then finally, your checkbook will balance itself out of pity.
You'll probably get into the University of Minnesota though. Hope that answers your question.

With 2 years of community college, the University of Minnesota will probably look at your college grades more than anything.
My school has strict entrance guidelines for incoming freshman out of high school but accepts all transfers.
If you're applying as a transfer and have shown that you've grown(in terms of grades), then you should be fine. They'll look more at your community college grades because they need to know that you're college ready.
You could always address this issue in an essay(if an essay is required).
Now, if your intended major is math, it won't look so good.
It looks really bad because those in plan on getting into decent to remarkable colleges don't even have a D.

I failed a semester if geometry and graduated with a weighted 2.5 gpa and got into a 4 year university right away. Mind, my ACT composite score was 31.
It looks pretty bad. How can you graduate high school if you fail a class?
I told a transfer counselor once that "F" stood for "Fun". She wanted no part of it, and no part of me at her University.
I hear that Taco Bell is hiring.
