Shy guys: what can a shy girl do to make herself approachable?

From what I have seen, shy guys seem to have trouble approaching girls (just like how shy girls have trouble approaching guys!)

What can I do as a shy girl to help a shy guy feel comfortable enough to approach me?

Currently, I:

smile when I talk to him

do my best to greet him warmly when I see him

laugh when he says something funny

genuinely listen to what he's saying

show I remember things about him

I do all these things, but he still seems kind of shy and he'll do typical shy guy things like look away quickly when I see him and avoid eye contact a little when we're talking.

I want to make him comfortable! Anything else I can do?

Well, you're probably not going to like this answer, but I'm going to say it anyways: stop hiding and face your fears. You can't expect shy guys to approach you if you can't even expect yourself to approach them. The fact is that telling someone you like how you feel takes courage, and courage is not doing something because you're not afraid, it's doing something despite the fact that you're afraid. If you weren't afraid then you wouldn't care and you can't genuinely like someone without caring about them. I understand it's hard, and perhaps it's something you need to work towards, but if you keep taking the easy way out you're going to miss out on so much life has to offer.

What you're saying doesn't make any sense because I DO approach him. I'm willing to approach him until he gets comfortable but I can't do everything. I don't know this guy well and I don't think it would be appropriate for me to tell him I like him. I don't have a problem doing that later on, but he has to be comfortable around me for us to get to know each other. All I'm asking is what I can do to make him feel more comfortable.

It's definitely NOT like I'm just sitting in a corner and hoping he'll approach me. That's highly counter-productive and I already knew that.

Oh, I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions. Well, to help someone who's shy be more comfortable around you what you really need to is make him feel like he can mess up by saying something wrong or stupid or w/e and it being OK. He needs to feel like he can let his guard down without it potentially ruining everything. Just show you're understanding.

omgeeee I'm in thee exact same boat, I can't deal, everyone notices it, I wanna run up to him and hug him, lol but that'll def scare him away...

just give it time dear...he will open up and loosen up hopefully

i really like my guy ALOT...everyone says he talks to them but he totally avoids me 100%

i speak and smile, he looks at me as if he wants to run away

it drives me nuts, I speak and he doesn't say a word... and I fall for his type everytime..i guess a part of me is shy also...

You have to go further than just that. You are going to have to learn where he lives, stalk him, peek through his windows, twerk infrontv0 of him, and put your hands you know where and tear him up like a tiger

Most likely a shy guy won't approach regardless if you smile at him, it's best to go up to him yourself. Introduce yourself
