How can some girls be so heartless towards guys?

I have a friend who's basically cold as ice towards guys she 'dates' she basically dates them for weeks and dumps the dude she's always like "don't believe what they tell you in movies in this world you are alone and you gotta make it by yourself" we're all in Highschool right now and whenever one of us gets in a relationship her main line would be "don't involve your feelings your in Highschool it's gonna end anyway don't be stupid" however she's so sweet and nice to all her friends and she cares about us a lot. Why are some girls like this?

She's really attractive and her personality is somewhat spiritually uplifting it just makes me sad for someone like that to not believe in relationships. Almost all the guys she dates fall for and she just watches them crash and burn

A lot of men are only after sex so it's a decent tactic on the part of the girl to try to make sure she doesn't end up with a guy like that.

My friend is in a relationship with a guy and honestly, she may as well be in a relationship with me because I'M the one she complains to and I'M the one she vents to about the issues of their relationship and asks me what to do to fix it and I'm always like, "Well, you could discuss this with your boyfriend..." but no. She's always so cold to him in person because she's always mad at him for one thing or another and the poor boy is so emotionally unintelligent that he has no idea why - just that she seems cranky.

I say emotionally unintelligent because this is his first relationship and he has never interacted much with girls so he's yet to pick up on how she behaves when she's mad :p

Some girls (like my friend) I think, just refuse to let themselves be happy.

She's right though. Those same guys that you're sympathizing for have the #1 goal of fucking as many girls as they can and telling their friends about it. High school girls who think these boys love them make me laugh. Y'all been listening to too much One Direction and y'all think every boy who plays nice with you is your One True Pairing. Guys try to use girls for sex like a routine. Usually guys will fall for you when you don't give a fuck. If she was as vulnerable and emotional as the average girl, she would have been getting played by those very same guys.

Sometimes guys simply don't measure up. She will eventually find someone more clever that will know how not to be discarded.

Well, some guys are only after one thing. Sex. She sees it, most likely, but instead of choosing to find a good guy (And keeping her heart open to men... She closes it to keep it from being harmed. But in doing so, she also closes herself off to their feelings, and will never really know a guy's heart.) and go through heartache and pain, she tells herself all guys are cold. This gives her an excuse to treat men like that, because in her mind, they are all dogs anyway.

So... She will never really find the love she craves deep down, so long as she keeps her heart closed off to them, and remains insensitive, telling herself "Things are going to end anyway".

It really is a weak position to take. There is strength, and bravery in keeping your heart open, soft, and vulnerable- but when you find the right man, he is going to cherish it, and protect it in his arms.

She will never know that.

maybe she thinks movies are real and that's how men are "suppose" to behave which is quite unrealistic. Allot of things I see guys doing in movies, in real life would end up with a restraining order for harassment and stalking.

I wonder what her view on men are, has she ever had a male friend? does she see them as the "enemy"? could she be a lesbian trying to be strait?

She probably has trust issues with guys because of something that happened to her or someone she knows. Like maybe a guy broke her heart or her father left her and her mom. So she assumes that all men cannot be trusted. I don't think girls like that will ever be happy in a relationship because they won't let any guys into their lives. Hopefully she will change her views when she gets a little older or meets a guy who is not a liar or an asshole. Hard to find these days I hear :P
