Guys why would a guy text a girl goodnight out of the blue? At 10pm?

This guy I saw in the morning and had a quick conversation with him, we're not dating!
And about 10 hours later at 10pm he text me a compliment with a goodnight at the end of the text!
I'm not stupid he was obviously thinking about me but my question is does that mean his interested in me and his sending out signals that he likes me or was he just thinking about me in a dirty kind of way?

He likes you at best and wants you to know he was thinking of you. Which would also mean he is hoping you will think about him or have been thinking about him. At worst he wants you sexually and wants you to think about him while you're in bed. Wouldn't jump to this just yet unless he sends you something sexual or says something like that. If you are interested in him as well then try seeing how long he will talk/text. The longer he goes the more likely he wants you. Things like texting all night means you're more important than sleep.

His never been disrespectful, never dirty but always polite and friendly! I have cought him checking out my butt a couple of times and the last time he kept looking at my butt for a couple if seconds longer as if he wanted me to catch him checking me out!
But other than that never dirty comments or anything like that.
He does talk to me a lot when he sees me and the other day said I should grow my hair a bit!
He does ask me a lot of questions and remembers my day to day activities like working days etc...
Makes eye contact and smiles when he sees me and talks to me.
If he calls me he talks to me for at least 10 min but most of the it's longer like 20 min or more.
He has also told me he has mentioned me to his mom.

Spending that much time with you. Talking to his family about you. Letting you know he thinks you're attractive. Being respectful. He either likes you a lot or you have really good dreams and he's not real. These are all signs he cares about you and enjoys being with you.

Yeah I know! I like him too but I'm kind of stuck! I've never been so nervous around a guy like this before and I don't know what to do next! How do I get him to ask me out? And don't say you ask him out because I can't as I'm nervous as hell!

Mention a place you like to go or would like to go to. Ask if he has been there. Or try finding out where he likes to go or would like to go and act interested in going. This should get him to ask you out. You can also ask a mutual friend to drop hints to ask you out.

Well, he obviously was thinking about you. It could be innocent and maybe he's crushing on you, maybe he does it to 50 other girls, or maybe he just wants in your pants. I don't know the guy so I can't say. But one thing for sure is he was flirting with you haha
