Why do guys like it when girls wear their clothing?

Why is it that guys like it when a girl (usually one that he has feelings for) wears something of theirs? Like a shirt, or a jacket.

I like to show my love for her, it's just a expression
i don't look at it that she is owned by me, i don't go
there with girls. I got different ways i express my love
just like i gave my class-ring to my ex girlfriend to wear
and she ended up losing it so sad she threw my love

Well another reason the guys let lady's wear there jackets is to let other guys know she is already taken

I will admit it is pretty cute. This guy gave me his coat because I was complaining about being cold since I was an idiot and decided not to change after volleyball practice. It was adorable

Yeah, my friend that I sat by in physics always put his jacket over my shoulders or something. I asked one of my other classmates what they thought of the situation, and she didn't have a clue
