If a guy says to you, "I want you x" on a text what does it mean...?

Straight after a text saying blah blah sorry didn't see you tonight blah blah blah , and really wanted to see you tbh xx"

[because we never see each other much, a lot of history & hoped to clash into him in a club to say hi blah blah ]

I would imagine he means he "wants you". Are you guys dating? There's not too much info and I don't know you or the guy, but I doubt there is any hidden message in that.

hed be like " I want you..", I don't get it in what type of context do they use that? is that supposed to mean sex? or that he plain out wants to be with us as boyufriend girlfriend, or to cuddle or..wtf lol
