I've been stood up for a first date. He had a legit excuse. I'm willing to give him a 2nd chance, but don't want to come off too willing. What can I make him do to make it up to me? Bake me a cake? Buy me expensive dark chocolate? Have to write me a love letter? Any other fun ideas?

Seriously? What guy is going to do that shit for you just because he couldn't make it to a date for a legitimate reason? Tell me, what makes you so special that this guy is gonna back you a cake or buy you expensive chocolate when he's probably gonna offer to pay for dinner as well? You even acknowledge that it's legit. Wow, you need to get off your high horse. If you really think that highly of yourself then this guy's probably lucky he couldn't make it. You're not that important. Go on the date with him, have a good time, and call it a day.

Seems kinda silly and not something I'd try unless he was already a good friend and a generally goofy guy. He's a man. Don't un-man him by making him beg at your feet, if he would even stoop to such a thing. A different idea that might go over better is to say "Sure, we can make plans for another date, but it better be good ;)"

Such a 2nd date as this would have to be him meeting up with you, already having fun with friends so IF stood up again = no big deal.
IF you decide he's worth it, THEN you might decide to ditch friends and do something else as a couple that night... after awhile.
