A guy who always stares, brushes up against me. why is he acting like this?

this dude from my faculty, we barely speak but we know each other for 3 year now.
he makes a lot of eye contact, tries to be close to me when there is opportunity, often bumps into me...
it's awkward and i don't feel comfortable when he stands too close to me, especially when there are other people and everyone can see it.
why is he doing it? now he does it even more :/

He is definitely attracted to you and apparently hasn't got the balls to tell you or otherwise handle it in any sort of a responsible way. So if you don't appreciate it, you can pretty much tell him to jerk off and quite pestering you. If it's a work environment, you can probably take sexual harassment into consideration.

it's in my university. he even goes out of his way so he can be or sit near me. always tries to stand so i can see him in front of me. is it sexual attraction only?
also, when it's harassment?

Yes it's physical/sexual attraction, you said you barely speak so he hardly knows you and can't be attracted to anything more than what he sees and knows about you.

Regarding harassment, most workplaces have rules against it; in college, there aren't many rules except federal law. But I'm sure there are counselors or some people like that at the college who have student life issues that can give you some specific advice to get away from this guy.
