Is it common for guys to not wear underwear?

My boyfriend told me he goes commando, at work, with friends, at home, sleeping, etc. Only when with me or he goes swimming or wants to hide his parts he wears underwear. Do a lot of guys do this? I was so surprised as I haven't heard of this and males in my family don't do this.

I've gone commando for the longest time I think...2006. I don't need to spend money on boxer-briefs, less cloths to wash and my blood flow to my dick isn't stifled by anything. I've never caught my junk in the zipper either. However I don't sleep in the nude I just wear shorts with nothing underneath and a tank top that's usually all.

Yes. The underwear was made to hold in sweat and smell in our genital area from rubbing off on our clothing. Plus let's not forget the visual impact it provokes when not wearing them, then yeah logic wins in this sense.

I only ever wear pants, but I do have undies for the rare times I wear skirts. I also keep moist wipes, the flushable kind with me at all times, and I always wipe with those when I use the bathroom to help me stay cleaner. But my OBGYN actually told me it was better for me to not wear any undies, because of how I am shaped down there. Because of the angle of my vagina, for some reason, underwear makes me more susceptible to "vaginosis", which is like a yeast infection, but much worse. Going comando did take some getting used to, but now I prefer it. One less article of clothing to worry about.
