I'm so confused about my crush?

Sorry this is long...

So my crush decided to sit with me in the library today even though there were plenty of seats available and I said "hey" but he said "don't talk to me im studying" really sarcastically. He was also with his friend and his group of friends came in and my crush said stuff like "guys keep it lowkey, someone might hear us" and "hey (his friend's name) i gotta tell you something but later cause she (aka me) might hear our conversation" and "oh i don't know this random girl next to me" as well as "Don't swing your water bottle so much you might hurt the random girl" It was all directed towards me but what really caught me off guard was when he said "Im trying to study ik you all want me especially this girl (aka me) and i replied with "WHAT?" and he said "WHAT." I noticed he glanced at me a lot and his friends were acting weird too. There were also long pauses after he talked about me.

When the bell rang he patted me on the back really hard and found it amusing that my whole body moved forward from just a single pat and decided to pat me again really hard.

What does this all mean?

I think his personality is the cocky type. It's obvious he is interested in you. I think he's trying too hard to get your attention. He sounds a little weird, but maybe he's just fumbled around you.

Was he kind of smiling when he would do this? looking at you and seeing how you would react? Did he kind of have a smirk on his face?

Well when he patted me on the back he had a huge smile/smirk on his face

I think he could like you, or just likes giving you a hard time. Have you ever talked to him before? sat by him in class or anything?

We've talked a couple of times before but i don't have any classes with him. We do talk a lot on the internet though.

I would just keep talking to him, If he's really interested he'll ask you out. If not, don't worry about it.
