My crush already told me he likes me but doesn't act as if he does.

Whenever i hang out with my guy bestfriend he gives creepy looks

Whenever I ask him why he looks at me he denies the fact that he does. But everyone knows that he does.

It seems like he always wants to be close with me, for school projects and other thing.

I really don't get him, why is he being like this and doesn't directly tells me he likes when he knows I do. Why is he being like this?
