When a guy says "night sweetie", does it mean anything?

I was texting with a guy I really like, and when I decided to go to bed and said goodnight, he replied with "Night sweetie". Does it mean anything or is it common for guys to say that kind of things to girls?

I think "sweetie" would suggest some degree of irony, it's not something people of even my generation would say seriously.

Whether counts as flirting, and if it does whether it means he's interested or just being friendly, depends on the guy, like would he say it to other girls? Whatever the case, at this point you might be trying to read too much into it
