Most guys actually get nervous around further because they think thy girls are pretty. The prettier the face or body that guy things a girl had the more nervous he'll be.
For the same reason girls get nervous around guys I suppose.

There's no real reason other than her overwhelming presence

Don't want to say or do something wrong when girls are judging us. He probably likes you too if he worries about the way you judge him.
