My boyfriend doesn't seem excited about Skype sex?

Hey there!
thanks for reading.

So i'm in a long distance relationship and it's very hard to be apart. I miss him a lot. So today while we were skyping i suggested that we tried Skype sex tonight (neither of us had plans)
He was very weird about it, asking if i had done it before and i don't know just saying like "if you want to do it, i will"
when i asked if he was uncomfortable about it, he said it just took him by surprise.
So i suggested a time and he was like..."yeah, maybe" now he is online and he isn't saying a word.
I mean... wtf?
He is very enthusiastic about our sex life when we are near... but this is very weird... is he weirded out because i propose Skype sex?
I think it's nothing to be ashamed off if you miss someone.

So guys, thoughts?
