Please help. I dont understand this guy, he's confusing af. Anyone have suggestions or can Help?

I dont care how stupid i sound i have never delt with a guy like this though. I started to like ths guy in my gym class and it seemed like he liked me too. He would stare at me and said hi and blush. Hewiuld keep eye contact any time we talked and seemed interested in what i said. He would try and impress me and bench stuff i couldnt. When i went to his basketball games he stared at me the would time. If i walked pash him and his friends they'd shove him my way and once they even screamed crush as i walked past. I finally told him i liked him but he didn't reply to my message and i assumed he didn't like me. Well he told his friend who is also my friend and now he (our mutal friend) keeps asking me if were dating yet and that he (my crush) is my boyfriend. Now My crush stops at my and our mutal friends locker area to wait for our friend and he either makes eye contact and smiles or completly avoids me. I went to a basketball game and he still stares at me? He told our friend to tell me i looked nice the one day, and he told my other friends dad, who had know idea i liked him or even knew him, that he said hi. I dont understand. Is he just playing with me or is he super shy? Does he like me or not? Sorry this is super long haha but please help me if you can.

Eh. That's tricky. He obviously is quite shy, but don't get too hung up over it. Don't completely throw away your feelings, he may not be ready now but in time he may realize he really wants you and will find the courage to ask you out. Just give it some time :)

If I were you I would confront him about it. Dude, I wish I was in your positition that sounds awesome. But Just be like hey, you never responded when I told you I like you so I want to know if you like me too. Just be straight up, its better like that.
