When a guy looks over his shoulder at you?

so i was in my P. E. class today and I was sitting with my friends in that class and a guy sitting in front of me just randomly looked over his right (i think it his right) shoulder and made direct contact with me and when i looked back we had eye contact with each other for about 2 seconds then he looks away. He definitely initiated eye contact. not only that he is always such a gentleman to me and for a while he never really styled his hair but very recently he cut and started styling his hair. i am probably over thinking this but it never hurts to know.

i guess it's too early to think if he's interested in you, since the only sign you have from him is just a 2 sec eye contact

yeah i decided its too early to tell but i think i will just keep doing my thing but he has not stopped staring at me he starts it about 75% of the time but if i start it he does not get offended or come up to me to ask what my deal is he instead keeps staring until one of us stops it or something else cuts it short
