This guy teases me about marriage. Why?

This guy I knows mom always jokes and says me and her son are gunna get married. I used to think she just said it to me but then he texted me one day and brought up that we are supposedly getting married. At first I didn't know if he was accusing me of saying it or just teasing me. Than the other day in person with my parents he made a joke a bout us getting married. I would think a guy wouldn't bring that up because he wouldn't want the girl to think more of it.. I Just don't get why he even brings it up

Guys do not just causally joke about marriage. If it keeps getting brought up he is seriously thinking about it and trying to bring it up in a fun, safe way
