The fact is that the overwhelming majority of us are not some flat stomach, 6 pack, muscle bound, low iq POS. Most of us, men and women, have some weight on us. So many of us tend to be attracted to the same type.
I would not want some skinny woman. I don't find many of them attractive and I would be afraid to hurt them during sex. i don't consider myself fat but I have a gut and I am a big guy.

I'm a bigger girl, and every guy I've dated said they loved looking at me and hearing my voice, and my weight was more of my problem than anything. I think it's how a bigger girl carries herself too. I know that I have shape, and the one thing I can't stand is my tummy, but my boobs and hips proportionately make up for this. If a man loves the shape but falls for more of my look than my body type, then is he a real chubby chaser or does he just find more stock in what other features she might have that drives him wild?

Honestly, I think it's a combinations of issues.
A. Their idea of what 'chubby' actually is. They think it's a girl with some pooch. In reality, that's an average, relatively healthy weight that probably doesn't do any weight training or toning exercise.
B. I've notice a lot of guys around here have lower self esteem and use the website as a way to talk to girls one -on-one in chats. They figure saying nice things and being a 'nice guy' will get them more acceptance and attention.
C. They're really just trying to be positive and nice, even if it's as much of a lie to themselves sometimes as it is to the question asker.

Maybe there's a correlation between GAG users and the type of people who find things society deems unattractive attractive.
Personally, I think that people know or strongly suspect that question askers are seeking validation, and it costs them nothing to provide it in exchange for feeling good about making somebody else feel good and possibly developing a positive social rapport with other GAG users.
Alternatively, since there's really nothing to gain by giving an honest negative answer, perhaps the many GAGers who hold more mainstream opinions avoid responding at all, skewing the results in favor of those who are replying and actually do find them attractive.
These men usually go for fat girls because they don't stand a chance with slimmer more attractive girls, so then they claim that they purposely choose them to save face. To admit to women that they prefer slim women would destroy their chances of getting laid at all. So then they come on here and they want women to like them so they say the same things here. It isn't the number that matters; it is what she looks like (is she thin, fat, overweight, average, etc.). This is also highly dependent on body shape. Guys don't care about the weight number itself--just what you look like.

@Watermelonoma, point taken, however weight is a flexible number. As in - you can be heavy because of muscle not just fat. Whereas with height, you are that tall or your not, simple as. It is clear cut.
I'm not saying that women aren't sensitive to their weight, and I will hold my hand up to that, but I was trying to make the point that men (on this site) think they will only date within a bracket of numbers and won't see past someone's appearance. I did a topic specifically targeting women's opinion on height vs weight; would you date someone that is chubby/fat or would you rather date someone who is short, like 5'4" - 5'6" or something like that. Around 80% of the women chooses weight over height.

im not often attracted to women who are overweight. I don't ask for anything in a girl that I do not have myself. As someone who is lean, I also have a preference for girls who are also lean. That being said, my preference isn't exclusionary, meaning that I don't only date lean girls.
