I recently joined a gym and have a personal trainer who I see at least 2x a week. Typically I'll see him the other days while I'm there as well. During the sessions as well as those other times we talk, about almost everything, not just gym stuff. I know a lot about his family, schooling, yes he's single, etc.
I find myself getting that nervous stomach feeling before the workouts and I have the feeling it has nothing to do with the machines or weights I'll be using. The whole situation scares me. Could I be falling for him, and more importantly, what a predicament that puts me in. These training sessions have done wonders for me. I look and feel better and want to continue, yet each time I see him I have the feeling I'm going further down a 1-way road to heart break. I respect him as my trainer, and I don't want to lose that, but I can't help but think about him as more. Any suggestions?

Well here the thing is with seduction, when your around someone with repeat exposure of environments you attach that excitement to the person you are with, so you just got seduced. just ask you self do you really want to be with this guy or is it the attraction you can't resist? and if its just the attraction then that tells you don't do anything. but if he flirts with you then he is trying to pursue you and seduce you, now if he flirts and you are falling I would talk to him about that "hey I noticed that you flirt with me and I kinda like you but I'm curious to see what your intentions are with me?"
but that might set you up for rejection so be prepared, or maybe tell him and reject the idea of a relationship before he does so you keep the upper hand in the situation and that you just want to be friends and keep it professional. cool?
I don't believe it was intentional seduction on his part.. gosh, I would love to say that it is though. I just believe that for some reason we 'clicked' and in doing so it makes me see him differently.. not just trainer/trainee..
I would leave it alone. Personal trainers are often instructed to flirt with their customers. It keeps them coming back. And if that's the case, and you do go for it, you might find yourself looking for another trainer, maybe even another gym, because seeing him there will be so awkward.
There are usually plenty of good looking guys at the gym; why not try to get to know one of them?
This has been my #1 concern. The 'what if' I am so way off on this. It all comes down to what I need him more for right now. He inspires me to do well with this and more importantly I trust him 100% not to let me get hurt in the gym. I have to trust him, and he has to believe in me. I've had trainers before who were good, but he's phenomenal at what he does. So it comes down to me keeping quiet, continuing the workouts and secretly hoping for more one day I guess..
Having owned a gym I can tell you that you aren't the first lady to think she is falling for her trainer. Look it is totally normal to feel this way. Trainers are usually in wonderful shape, good looking, motivating and extremely personable. What's not to fall for? But, and here is the thing, that is his job! Great trainers are supposed to make you feel comfortable and wanting you to return to get the results you want. Now I am not saying your trainer is messing with your emotions. It is more likely he is nice to ALL of his clients. Take a deep breath, enjoy your time with your trainer, but keep it on a professional level. While doing your cardio, watch your trainer with other clients and see that they probably smile just as much with him as you do. If you are uncomfortable though, time to make a switch. Life is too short for heartache.
