Why won't my boyfriend take his shirt off?

I have been with my boyfriend for almost 5 years now and he has never taken his shirt or clothes off during sex or in front of me in general, aside from the two times we have had sex in the shower. He is thin and has a six pack so I don't know why he would be insecure but maybe he is. What is your opinion? How do you think I could make him more comfortable or willing to take his shirt off in front of me?

He's probably insecure about his body, its not you. And its not because he's uncomfortable in front of you either, not at all. If he could have sex with you, then he obviously trusts you, and with his body too. So you aren't the problem. It doesn't matter if he's thin and has a six pack, he could still have a bad body image. People tell me i have a great body, but I don't think so at all, same thing with a lot of my friends, they hate their body while I wish I had theirs.

even though you may not think he has a reason to feel insecure, he very well still could be. maybe try talking to him about it?

Have you tried talking to him about it? Maybe it's an insecurity he has. You can maybe try taking it off for him instead to insure him that you want to see him take his shirt off.

I have playfully tried to lift up his shirt and he pulls it down before I can lift it up and has even got mad at me for doing it :/

No, I mean I have seen his torso before. He is fine, he has great skin, he is tan, six pack, v-cut, honestly to me he is perfect so I just don't get it.

He's probably insecure. I don't care about taking my shirt off but I would have though not doing it would be a deal breaker. If I'm honest it's a bit depressing to know there are some really nice girls out there, to this extent, but they're usually taken and few and far between. Meh. Do carry on! lol

I totally get you! I always wondered why guys didn't want nice girls, it has always been hard for me to get boyfriends. It's like men like girls that hurt them and beat them up lol

I think it's just the girl they like and they conveniently ignore all the mal treatment until they get fucked over good and proper. I like nice girls, but they're very hard to find... genuinely nice people are hard to find, you just don't notice in every day life because the stakes are small compared to a relationship.

I agree, nice people are hard to find, I don't have any real friends for that exact reason. What do you mean stakes are small compared to a relationship?

I just mean your dealings with people, day to day, are superficial and trivial... not like a relationship where things matter more... and the fact that you don't notice that good people are hard to find is because of pleasantries and social convention, under the skin most people are assholes. I know there's a lot of bitter people on here who say similar things, but I'm not bitter, just mildly disappointed these days. lol

I think there's a bad scar ot bad burn maybe from someone he knew and it will cause bad emotion to him if you know about it. I'm not sure. But ask him this question and see his reaction ask him do you hide something happened from the past under this shirt Lets see how he will react.
