Why he's not responding?

He's been the one pursuing me. We've been on two great dates. Nothing physical has happened, but he knows I want it and he sounded more than eager to step up the level for our next date. He asked if I was available like a day after our last date and I didn't respond til a week later, and I texted something random (about my back tension, in an attempt to give him an opening to say something flirty, ex: maybe I should help you, etc) but I got a boring response...so I texted back on the same topic. Now he hasn't text back since then. I don't know what's going on, we haven't talked much all week. Is he not interested now or maybe he's just busy? I really don't want to have to text again or ask him to hang out...he knows I"m not the type and that I like him to be assertive. What should I do? I don't think it's worth it to cave in and pursue him, he knows he has to take initiative, but hasn't yet.

It's because you waited a week to text him back. Now he's not sure where he stands and he's probably a little annoyed.

Well he responded to my first text, but after that didn't respond. how can I reassure him without totally giving in and saying, hey come to me, I want you now! lol.

Well just think about it in reverse. A guy shows obvious signs that he's into you and then doesn't respond for a week. I think a guy's being rude if he doesn't respond for a day much less a week! You've gotta put in the extra effort now to undo the damage.

What do you think I should do then? I don't want to feed him into a situation to come over or guide him to me...i mean if he wants me he should just come and do it. so how do I reassure him that I want it but not guide him inch by inch...

Before I reply, I know you are not angry at him, but to him it will appear that you are.

If he is smart he is going to avoid anything that would make you angry at him again. - that is assuming he's is not a "player" and hasn't move on to his next victim.

If you did that to me and I really liked you, I would wait and hope you would come and see me when you forgive me (if you ever do) but unless you are frank what you are hoping will happen isn't going to happen, he thinks he cross the line.

It's funny you say that because the week prior I had told him clearly, that he needs to take it to the next level and that I'm giving him permission to. so he knows where he stands. the only reason I could think he'd think I was mad is because the last date we had (prior to me telling him this) nothing happened. but after that I told him to get on it and he was very eager to do so. now that this week of strangeness has passed, I'm not sure what now...do I have to contact him again?

Yes, and not through a text. You need to talk to him face to face.

He may also be nervous... I was with my first time.
