Guys, what does it mean if a guy smiles and looks away after a hug?

he put out his arms said " BRING IT IN!" i barely know him (we're coworkers) and so i gave him a hug (putting my head on his chest) he didn't hug back for like 3 seconds.. i was the only one hugging him while he was just having his arms out (awkward!!) then he hugged back and then when the hug broke i looked up at him and he was looking in an opposite direction with a slight smile...
