What does it mean when a guy says goodbye/goodnight a few times at once?

So this is a bit of a long story. Sorry!

I've been friends with this guy for a while, and we text a lot, usually at night, sometimes pretty late. We always say goodnight when we are going to sleep, but its usually just "goodnightttt" or "see you tomorrow" or stuff along those lines but not usually anything more than that. So, he is going on this camping trip for a week for boy scouts with my little brother and a bunch of other guys. They are leaving really early in the morning, and I finally convinved him to go to sleep, and this is what happened:

I said:
Now you should seriously go to sleep

He said:
Okay

goodnight (my name).

then I said:
goodnight (his name). Have fun nerd scout camping! (that's a joke with me and my guy friends who are scouts)

Oh and make sure (my brother's name) doesn't die for me!

then he said:
thanks! ill text you tomorrow on the way up or on the way back next weekend

see you!

Then I said:
Ok! See you!

Then he said:
bye bye

and I said:
byeeee

(the double spaced parts are what were in separate texts.

So I'm probably overthinking this, but I dont know. It just seemed like a lot of goodbye. I like him, and there's this thing going on with all of our friends where they always bug us because they think we should date, so they are probably just getting in my head! Just looking for a second opinion! Thanks!

Your a bitch you basically forced him to stop talking to you. Next time he texts u say Things that implies u want more like ."I missed u soo much I've been thinking about you". It's good because it doesn't give a lot away but at the same time puts it in his head that you wouldn't mind sucking him off in the future given that your together hehe. There are other examples Like im really scared by myself at home will you protect me or some shit. You get the drift. P. s. No offense about calling u a bitch it's a habit of mine lol good luck.

Ok. I had a feeling that I shouldn't have stopped him, but I don't know. It was petty late and it seemed like time. I almost kept it going but I talked myself out of it. Guess I should go with my gut. And the bitch thing was a little harsh at first, but I saw the note and whatever. Honestly I do it too. But thanks!
