Tinder culture in Scandinavia?

I was on tinder in Norway, Sweden and Finland and managed a decent amount of matches however no one starts the conversation and even when I try to hold one, some just answer my questions but never seem to keep it going! The only thing that they seem to do is just post a lot of moments. Is anyone from there and can explain what it is that the Scandinavian boys want from tinder? Is it generally just seeking casual hook ups or dating or what? Help a girl out haha.

I'm a Finn, so I know what people in Finland and Sweden are like. Finnish people are generally more introvert than Swedes, even though it absolutely doesn't mean all of them are.

I think they might just not feel very comfortable communicating using English, since finnish and swedish people in general are not very linguistically talented (especially not the finnish-speaking Finns. On the other hand swedish talking people who live in Finland usually know English [among other languages] very well, since we know two languages from two totally different language trees). A little bit off topic but a little culture never killed anyone, am I right? 😉

Ah really? I always just assumed Scandinavians would know a decent amount of English, but that could be the case!

Well especially Finns don't do very well with languages. That's why most Finns and half of the finnish government want to remove the compulsory swedish from the curriculum in the finnish speaking schools. Learning swedish is compulsory here, since it's one of the national languages.
But us "Finn-Swedes", we generally succeed in languages.

Aww noo they should keep it, I think learning several languages is very important! I myself wish that I was taught Finnish but moving to an English speaking country made it hard for me to keep up.

Yeah knowing many languages is definitely not a burden. I love being bilingual, besides Finnish and Swedish I also know English (obviously) and I'm studying German (mostly in school) and I've also started gradually approaching Spanish by myself at home.

I absolutely feel like it's an advantage and I am very proud of being bilingual. When I'm done with school here in Finland (2 years to go!) I'm going to the US as an au pair. I think that will improve my English a lot!
