Why do men have their shit together at a later age?

So I have noticed that guys at a young age (18-26) don't know what to do with their life.

I wonder if this also aplies to girls. And why this is.

Women are more likely to do the things expected of them, were as not only will men not, but it's becoming less and less clear what is expected of men in today's society.

Women can choose to start a career and be an "independent women" or she can start a traditional family, or some combination were she fluctuates between her choices and get's her man to pick up the slack. Whatever they choose they will be encouraged for.

Were as men it's a lose lose situation so I think a lot of men just stop caring.

i would say that many men begin to settle around 23-24ish? it obviously depends on his lifestyle and goals.

well there's just a time for everything. that time in ur late teens and 20's is when ur still trying to figure out who u r. i dont think people should be expected to have their shit together in this time range. life is a process of self improvement.

Some might. But others go to college and have jobs, and want stable lives.

It applies to women as well but they don't ever have to worry about relying on themselves so there's no such thing as a margin of error to them. There'll always be a guy that can take care of them somewhere even if she has to move to meet him.

most men develop fully mentally at around 27 in my opinion and before that its about having as much fun as possible
