question as above. Do you think he's chatting to other women and he goes off and on which means he's actively conversing. or his online for like 10 mins at a time and till late. he's not chatting to me

I think you're overthinking this. People use messenging apps for all sorts of different reasons these days. In work or school settings, there are constantly groups established to be in contact whilst apart to be able to work together.
