When a guy says "I'll let you know" what does it mean?

He is slightly interested in me.. I texted him and asked him if he was free this week. And he replied:

That's a good question, I'm really busy this week I'll let you know.

Im not completely into him because I dont know him.. We hung out once before and he said he wouldn't mind hanging out once a week or every other week..

Some people actually mean they will let you know. I've said it so many times and I actually meant it. So has my friends and other people.. But others say it's to say they just don't want to hang. Either way idc because I'm not tied to him in any way but I'm curious.

2. You are too easily accessible, so he knows he can call whenever and you will be available.

3. You two had sex and that is all he wanted, was some fun, so he will call you when he wants to hookup again.

4. He doesn't want to say straight out that he doesn't want to see you again so he pretends he will call when he is free but you only hear from him when you contact him and the convo is weak.

In any case, a guy who is really interested in you and ready for a relationship will not do this. I can tell you without a doubt that a guy who is head over heels for you will not string you along like this. They would be too afraid they would risk losing you.

i assumed he wasn't since we were talking so much, but I didn't ask him. I'm not really trying to date right now either, even though I like him. I just started a new job, I'm moving out, I'm working on losing weight...too much for a boyfriend right now. when he first asked me to hang, I told him I might be busy, so I held it off for a week (we talked inbetween) before picking a day. is that a problem?

I guess I am a little confused here. He sounds unavailable to me and even if he was available you sound unavailable. I think you have a bigger problem here. I just don't believe in trying to maintain some sort of faux friendship with someone who you really like more than that, even if you are not acting on your interest in him. So, both of you sound like you are trying to stay "friends" when it really isn't reasonable at all and in your heart of hearts you know that.

It is not realistic to expect him to be able to show you the same sort of interest he did before he had a girlfriend. What kind of guy could he be to have a girlfriend and disrespect her by pursuing you in any sort of way. You need to move on and let this go.

i think its just a move that boys do to make a girl wonder.
and it puts him on your mind!
i think its one of those ghost moves that you dont catch very often.

I know you women have a tough time understanding that other people besides you actually mean what we say but we do. Men deal with logic so with said there is no mind games to be played. We mean what we say !

I wouldn't take it for more than what he said. Assuming is basically lying to yourself. Check with him today/tomorrow, offer up a suggestion (i. e. coffee, ice cream, etc) and dont ask a yes/no question. Make him respond.

Example- Hey "dude", I was thinking we could go _____ on _____, is there a time that works best for you?
