my crush is the lighter green bubble. I'm the darker green. I know he's serious when he texts my name. But why did he get mad at this? We are really good friends and he said before that he had a little something for me but overall he likes me as a friend. I know I did wrong... But why did he get so defensive?

Everytime you compliment her, she says "Oh thats not true" and "Stop lying" and stuff like that.
It gets very annoying and frustrating.

Now put yourself in his shoes. Think about it. He tells you he likes you and he got mad because he wanted you to accept his compliment. He wouldn't compliment you if he didn't mean it after admitting to feeling SOMETHING for you.

Because you keep putting yourself down. If someone was having a convo like that with me, I'd stop talking to them. It's just a way of you trying to get more attention and compliments. You may not think so, but to him that's how it sounds. It's okay to be playful and joke around, but don't be annoying about it. He got defensive because he didn't want to have a conversation based on you putting yourself down the whole time.

"A little something", is probably not true. He got mad because he really likes you and doesn't want you thinking of yourself like that. Even if I'm wrong, and he doesn't like you, he still doesn't want you saying those things about yourself, and it makes him sad to know you do.

Sounds like to some extent he finds you attractive, so keeping that in mind he maybe doesn't have any patience for you trying to say otherwise if that makes sense. I've had similiar conversations with guys, I can't get why they'd talk to me, but I've learned just to bite my tongue now because being that insecure (especially at the start of a potential relationship) often just doesn't come off well.
