I don't know how old this is but it goes both ways. I'm a freshman in college and my girlfriend a senior in high school. I always say goodnight even if she falls asleep on me and doesn't say it or I love you. Girls if you do that it does kinda hit us in a soft spot we look for that same goodnight and I love you. Personally I sleep a lot better when my girlfriend says it back compadres to when she falls asleep on me. So a little I'm sorry I fell asleep on you last night I love you goes a long way. Now to address good morning. As a freshman in college my earliest class allows me to sleep in till 9:30 latest 10. My girlfriend a senior in high school has to be up by 6 to get dressed eat and pick up her friend before school. I try my best to wake up every morning and text her before she leaves for school good morning and to have a great day. Or good morning I love you. Either one. However when 1.) we send it and don't get a reply back it sucks we know you at least checked your phone once for the time especially if we wake up early to text you before you wake up. We know you saw the message answer it. Chivalry works both ways. He feel kinda shitty when we don't get that response. If you're busy and can't respond say so later so we don't take it to heart. Because we all aren't macho I can't show emotion guys. A lot of us let our girlfriend see our soft side and soft spot and that stuff actually does make us sad. Just a little. 2 if we usually text you good morning if we sleep In late one day or forget text us good morning. First off it will make us smile. Second if we do it for you you can send us one too. Third it will make our day. 4 if we are always the one to say good morning and you never say it first. Or if in order to start talking during the day we need to initiate contact first and send the first text it sucks for us. We genuinely feel like then you don't care and just expect us to do that for you. Let me tell you I'm dating a girl who I always say good morning first when I can she never has once never even sends to first text of the day. Why because you expect the man to do it. It doesn't make us feel good. It's a double standard. You like when we do it you'll feel loved and appreciated return the favor to your boyfriends, husbands or guy you like because from personal experience it sucks never receiving one.
I'm pretty sure he's unsure.
As he says: he doesn't want anything serious - maybe he wants to have fun and doesn't want you to forget him in case he decides you might be one of those girls he'd like to have fun with?

It shows that you are the last thought on his mind before he goes to sleep , and the first thing on his mind when he wakes up, but if he says he doesn't want anything serious then he is obviously indecisive about what he wants right now

I think if a guy text it he's into yu but if he stops doing it then lost interest
