A guy gave me a head nod?

Everyone is saying different things about the head nod which is a way of greeting. Well I was wondering what it means in general? My crush couldn't talk to me so he gave me a head nod and I was surprised because I thought only guys use that towards each other.. I never greet anyone by nodding my head.

All a head nod means (the up-to-down motion) is an acknowledgement of someone's presence. It translates to, "Hello, I see you!" and that's it.

The other head nod (down-to-up, emphasizing the chin) is basically "Yo, what's up, man!" in a gesture. That's the one you see a lot of guys using with each other.

No, but that gesture is also a means of garnering attention. "Hey, I'm here! What's up?" in a nutshell.

Don't read so far into male non-verbal communication. Its vague and simple enough to drive a woman to fits trying to overthink it.

I feel like you are reading too much into it. Most guys just have one way of acknowledging people and just use that for most people.
The fact that he notices you is probably a good sign though.
